Getting Ready for Your Pool Closing

Thank you for scheduling your pool closing with us. A little preparation before our technicians arrive helps us winterize your pool correctly, keeps our service routes running smoothly, and helps prevent unexpected charges.

Please Have Your Winterizing Items Ready

All customer-owned winterizing accessories must be left out in plain sight near the pool or pool equipment before our crew arrives. If something required to properly winterize your pool is not available, our technicians may use a new replacement item and it will be added to your bill.

What We Handle & What You Handle

Knowing what to expect before your appointment helps make your closing as quick and trouble-free as possible.

Customer Responsibility

What You Need to Do

  • Make sure our technicians have clear access to the swimming pool and equipment area.
  • Unlock gates or other entrances needed to access the pool.
  • Secure pets away from the pool and equipment area.
  • Remove items that may block access to the pool or pool equipment.
  • Have your winter pool cover accessible and ready for installation.
  • Leave all winterizing plugs, fittings, cover accessories, and other pool-specific winterizing parts out where our technicians can easily see them.
Important: Our technicians will not search garages, sheds, storage buildings, pool houses, basements, or other areas for winterizing accessories. If an item is not left out and readily available, a new replacement may be used and billed to your account.

Items You May Need to Leave Out

Every pool is different. Depending on your pool and cover system, please leave any winterizing equipment you already own somewhere obvious near the pool or equipment pad.

1

Winterizing Plugs

Any plugs, caps, return fittings, expansion plugs, or other winterizing components used specifically on your pool.

2

Skimmer Accessories

Gizmos, skimmer plugs, face plates, Aquadors, or other skimmer winterization devices previously used on your pool.

3

Winter Cover & Hardware

Your cover, springs, water bags, cable, winch, anchors, or other accessories needed to install your particular cover.

Pool Cleaning & Water Condition

Routine swimming pool cleaning and water balancing are not included with the standard pool closing service.

We recommend having the pool reasonably clean and the water in good condition before closing. Proper water care at closing can help protect the pool surface and make spring opening easier.

Need Closing Chemicals?

A Pool Closing Chemical Package can be added to your service. If you selected the package when booking, our technicians will bring the appropriate closing chemicals with them.

Your Closing Appointment

During closing season, our technicians are scheduled by route and service area. You will receive a reminder before your scheduled pool closing.

We will contact you the day before your closing to remind you that our crew will be coming the following day.

Exact arrival times may vary due to weather, traffic, service conditions, and the amount of time required at earlier appointments.

You do not need to be home as long as our technicians have access to the swimming pool, equipment, winter cover, and all required accessories.

Have a Question Before We Arrive?

If you have unusual pool equipment, are unsure which winterizing items need to be left out, or have another question about your closing, contact us before your scheduled service.
