What Your Pool Opening Includes

Our opening service handles the major startup steps needed to get your pool and equipment back into operation for the season.

Basic Pool Opening — One Visit

  • Remove and fold the winter cover.
  • Lower applicable safety-cover anchors.
  • Reassemble and start pool equipment.
  • Basic equipment startup and operation check.
  • Minor vacuum-to-waste when pool and water conditions allow.
  • Startup chlorine and algaecide treatment.
Basic Opening is a one-trip service.

We open and start the pool, but continued cleaning and water cleanup after the opening visit are the homeowner's responsibility. A Basic Opening does not guarantee clean or swim-ready water.

Full Pool Opening — Opening + Cleanup

  • Includes the complete initial pool opening service.
  • Includes 2–3 additional service visits after the opening.
  • Vacuum and clean the pool during follow-up visits.
  • Brush pool surfaces and empty baskets as needed.
  • Backwash or clean the filter as needed during cleanup.
  • Check water condition and add necessary startup or cleanup chemicals.
  • Continue the normal seasonal cleanup process to help get the pool clean, clear and ready for normal use.
Full Opening is designed for pools in normal seasonal condition.

Pools with excessive debris, severe algae, extremely poor water conditions, equipment problems or other conditions requiring substantial additional labor may require additional charges. Cavanaugh Pool, Spa & Patio reserves the right to modify the service scope, recommend additional services or determine that a pool does not qualify for the Full Opening cleanup package after the initial opening.

Before We Arrive

Please have the pool accessible with gates unlocked; ladders, rails, plugs and pool-specific opening items available; and power and water available at the property. Remove personal items blocking access to the pool or equipment, and use the booking notes to tell us about equipment concerns or special pool features.
