A simple guide to your spa controls, jets, waterfall, Bluetooth audio, and everyday operation.
Select the control panel on your spa to see how to adjust the temperature.
Heating tip: For normal heating, check that the spa is in the appropriate heating mode and temperature range. If the spa is not heating, visit our Troubleshooting Guide.
Heating tip: The heater status indicator changes when the heater is actively heating. The displayed water temperature may take a moment to update after startup.
Note: Screen layouts can vary with software version. Follow the on-screen labels on your SpaTouch 4.
Water temperature is how warm the water is right now. Set temperature is the temperature you've asked the spa to reach. After a fresh fill, heating can take approximately 12–24 hours depending on conditions.
Make the most of the massage features on your spa.
Use the Jets button on your TP500 or the jet controls on your touchscreen. Depending on your model, you may have more than one jet pump or speed.
Many jets can be opened or closed by turning the jet face about a quarter turn. Avoid forcing the jet past its normal stop.
The larger diverter valve directs water pressure between seating areas. Move it toward one side for stronger pressure in that area, or toward the middle to share the flow.
Air-control knobs mix air into the jets for a more vigorous massage. Turn them down when finished; closing them can help reduce heat loss while the spa warms up.
If your spa has a waterfall, turn on a jet pump, then turn the waterfall control clockwise to start the flow. Adjust the valve to change the waterfall strength.
Use the Light button or touchscreen lighting control. Available colors and effects depend on your spa model.
For Platinum models equipped with Bluetooth speakers.
The Bluetooth device name and code can vary with the audio equipment installed in your spa.
Move your phone closer to the spa and check that another device isn't already connected. If needed, choose Forget This Device in your phone's Bluetooth settings and pair again.
If the phone connects but music comes through the phone speaker, check the audio output selected in your music app.
A few simple habits help keep your spa ready to enjoy.
Choose a comfortable temperature for your household. Never exceed 104°F. Lower temperatures are recommended for children and longer soaking sessions. Check the water with a reliable thermometer before entering.
The spa may circulate or briefly run pumps for filtration, heating, or automatic purge cycles. This is often normal. If you see a warning or the spa isn't circulating correctly, use our Troubleshooting Guide.
Fill to the recommended level before switching the spa on. Allow time for the water to heat and make sure water is circulating. Balance the water and follow the FROG @ease startup steps in our Water Care Guide.
Filtration settings differ by control panel and spa configuration. Some circulation systems are factory-programmed. Contact Cavanaugh before making significant changes if you're unsure what your spa requires.
Keep the water at the correct level, test and balance it, and clean your filter regularly. The manufacturer recommends checking filters frequently and cleaning at least every two weeks, or more often with heavy use.
